Cloud and Landscape Studies
These two pieces were projects for my intro to digital painting class. They are both study paintings, one is on clouds, and the other is on landscape.
What was accomplished was digital paintings that are recreations of reference photos I’ve taken and have my painterly style integrated into it. The one to the left is the evening sky in Wahiawa, and the one to the right is the hazy day in MCBH, Kaneohe.
This was accomplished by taking reference photos of the subject I was studying, then in Procreate create a sketch overlay breaking down the photo and understanding how it can be recreated to a digital painting. Then we selected main colors from the photo and that would then be our palette. Lastly painted our base/flat layers in then added my own flare and textures to make it more stylized. I was very pleased with the outcome of both of these pieces.
